The Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) signed a memorandum of cooperation to support and enhance the implementation of Oman Vision 2040. In addition, the MoC aims to enhance the abilities and expertise of the people responsible for the implementation and follow up of programmes and initiatives. Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Chairman of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit, and Steve Phimister, managing director of PDO, signed the MoC.
Under the memorandum, cooperation will focus on national priorities within Oman Vision 2040, such as expanding in-country value (ICV), making green growth opportunities more accessible, transforming energy sources, and tackling climate change. The MoC also supports the government’s efforts in developing data systems to serve its executive plans, and in exchanging information and expertise in communications and media fields. The PDO provides support to the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-Up Unit and programmes related to the areas covered by the MoC.
